Merry Slothmas!
Have Yourself a Slothy Little Christmas
Apologies for not posting a lot over the last couple weeks. Study has been pretty hectic trying to finish off experiments and get things analysed before I have a couple weeks off over Christmas/New Year. Finally on holidays as of 3pm today! I hope you are all enjoying the Christmas season as much as I am. It helps when you do most of your shopping in November and so December is nice and easy on that front (yes, I’m one of THOSE people). I have 2 trees in my house, one upstairs and one downstairs. The one downstairs is the main one, themed, decorated fully, presents underneath. The upstairs one is reserved for the sloths! The tree is, of course, their natural habitat, and they all enjoy dressing up for the festivities!

Sueño the Sloth
This is Sueño the Sloth. A fluffy, fuzzy, floppy Cuddlekins sloth, she and Perry live out their days together lazing about and giving cute little kisses when the kids aren’t looking. Sueño (pronouced “Ss-wen-yo”) is a beautiful lady, her fur is light tan, with a slight shimmer, due to the unique algal growths within it!
Sueno means “Dream” in Spanish.
Perry the Sloth
Meet Perry. Okay, I know what you’re thinking. That’s not Perry, that’s Belt from The Croods 3D Dreamworks movie. And you would be right. But when “Belt” arrived on my doorstep, I didn’t see the stone age hip-hugging sloth that he is in this fantastic movie (you’ve got to check it out, seriously he’s uber cute), I saw my dopey, snoozy, Perry. He was different to Belt. Maybe a cousin, perhaps? He can’t play the drums, and he certainly won’t wield a knife. He is the best sloth for giving hugs because his arms are so long, and he loves to sit and watch soapies with me of an evening. Having said that, you can get Belt here, but make sure you give him lots of hugs too.
The name Perry comes from the word Perezoso, which is Spanish for Sloth. Sloths are found all over the Spanish speaking country of Costa Rica.
And just so you don’t doubt me about how adorable Belt is in The Croods, here’s a short clip:
Mikio the Sloth
Mikio the Sloth is a booty-shaking, bouncy young female, who is outgoing and very very friendly. Mikio likes to take her best girl Slowla out shopping and dancing, and she adores Kip even though he can be a bit of an embarrassment sometimes! Get this adorable Webkinz Plush here.
MIKIO means “Three trees together” in Japanese.
Kip the Sloth
Three years ago yesterday a bundle of slothy fun arrived in my mailbox, which went on to be called Kip the Sloth.
Kip is Doza’s best mate. You could say he’s “that” friend. A bit of a bad influence, Kip is very cheeky, can get quite rowdy, and likes to make bad jokes and laugh at them himself. He is always the life of the party, and is usually the one keeping everybody else awake when, as is often the case, it is time for bed.
Kip comes from here originally!
Slowla the Sloth
Doza’s girlfriend, Slowla, is a shy, quiet sloth who loves cuddling and pillow talk!
You can get this adorable beanie baby here.
Doza Sloth
This is my very special friend, Doza Sloth. He was my first sloth, and so out of all of them he is the one that comes with me on holiday, the one who is allowed “sleepovers” in my bedroom (trust me, if they were all there I’d have to kick the boy out), and the only one to have his own Facebook account. He is a very easy going guy; as his name suggests he is often dozing but likes to have adventures sometimes too. Doza is not naughty, but he can sometimes be a bit cheeky! He likes to dance, and to cuddle, and to lounge around like “Hey, what’s goin’ on guys?”. He is a top bloke and a loving SNAG, and I love him to bits.
If you want your very own, you can get him here. Note: his very sharp tux (pictured) is not included; I got it from Build a Bear.
