Last night the Boy and Doza and I got back from 6 days away in Sydney, NSW. A welcome break from all the paperwork I’ve been doing over the last few weeks.
We went to the theatre (twice), went shopping, lunched with friends, hiked around Manly, and even climbed the Harbour Bridge! It was an exhausting holiday! But a great week away.
Well my boss gets back this week. And I’ve actually got some experiments planned. So I’ll have to show my face a bit more now, after having at least a day off a week for the last three weeks. It’s been good to have some recharging time; I’ve slothed it a little bit, getting some things done in terms of chores and writing, but mostly just taking it easy. The boy’s been a bit jealous. (Sorry honey!) 
I’ve spent at least half the day making Easter chocolates. They look great! 3D hearts in a combination of dark, milk and (pastel-coloured) white chocolate in cute little gift bags. But I only have one mould, so it took me quite a long time unfortunately as I had to wait for each one to set before melting some more chocolate to do the next one, etc.
So now I’ve left the boy to make dinner, and I’m having some well-earned R&R time with Doza and Snorman, watching the Great British Bake Off , blogging, and having a cup of cinnamon tea. 
Man it’s hot this weekend. This is pretty much all you CAN do if you don’t want to work up a sweat.

Over halfway into the week away. Yes I’ve done some work today, but a lot of the time has been like this:
This week I am staying in a beach house with the boy and his family. I’ve just got back from a couple hours of beautiful swimming, sun baking and cider at the gorgeous beach down here. Doza took the opportunity to have, well, a doze. The warm weather makes him quite snoozy.
Usually when the boy and I go away somewhere it’s all go-go-go with things to do and places to see, so I’m really looking forward to having a week where we don’t do very much and just have a nice relaxing time reading, swimming, lounging and eating/drinking.
*sigh* I will also probably do some writing for my thesis. The sooner it gets done the sooner it will be finished! Some nice logic for you there… But I won’t force myself. Need this nice recharging time.

So Adelaide is home to The Clipsal for the next couple of days. It always brings out a few… interesting… characters. The boy scored a free ticket to a Corporate Suite so he is spending the day eating and drinking and not going to work (apart from a meeting this morning…). I can hear the cars (utes, I believe) from my office and am half glad, half sad, that I’m not there too. 
Instead, I’m setting up a (somewhat big) experiment that I haven’t done before, and then going to yoga, and then going home and watching mah stories, perhaps with Mikio on my lap. GTs.
