Happy birthday Mumsie, I’m thankful for everything that you have given me, sacrificed for me, let me get away with, and done for me throughout my life.
I love you very much.
Today is the boy’s birthday! We had friends over last night, have spent all day together today and will see family tonight. He is the cherry on top of my sloth-filled life and I love him so very very much, not least for putting up with this all-consuming obsession of mine (and, generally, encouraging it…).

My young niece and cousins know all too well my obsession with sloths. Today was a month since my birthday so I packed up my cards that had been sitting out since then, and realised I forgot to post about this card that my 7 year old cousin made for me:
Not sure, but I think that’s a dolphin on top of the winner’s podium. And I may have seen recently on Facebook that she now has a toy sloth of her very own! Talk about having a positive influence!
Yesterday was my birthday. I had a busy day at work, but did get very spoilt by family and friends.
So here is the big news:
The boy is organizing for me to MEET A SLOTH. Pet it, feed it, interact with it. I am BESIDE MYSELF. As they only allow two people at a time, once a month, I have to wait until July at this stage. And if it shuns you, you have to leave. If I get shunned by the sloth I will literally cry. Watch this space, it’s going to be AMAZING.
It’s Doza’s 5th birthday today! To celebrate I got him a hibiscus flower to nom and we are having a Meet the Sloths marathon this weekend. I might even bake some sloth cupcakes.
So I was going through old cards, letters and diaries etc, when I came across this AWESOME drawing my friend Marcus made me for my 21st! So many lols.

I saw this ages ago and thought it was about time it got posted on this site. I don’t blame Kristen Bell for reacting the way she did; I probably would have done the exact same thing if a SLOTH was in my house!
When I turned 21, my Mum made me a sloth cake. It was the best present she could have given me. Doza Sloth helped me cut it, too!
