Day off (rhymes with sloth)

Today I’m having what we in the PhD business call a “mental health day”. The last two days have been full-on and didn’t sleep too well last night. Also this morning I went back to the doctor about my broke finger (boo, apparently broken bones take 6 weeks to heal and I’m only 2 weeks in) and so half the day is gone, and I can’t stay later at work because I’m going to Zumba on Wednesday this week (see Monday’s post). So… not worth a one hour commute there and back just for 5 hours or so of work. Although I would LOVE to sloth around all day, going to do some reading and writing for my paper (whoohoo), so it won’t be a complete waste of time. Right… after… I do… my Sudoku…sleepysloth

New Bed Clothes

Changed the sheets on my bed today. Lovely warm flannelette. A tan brown colour, in case you were wondering. It is a fabulous thing to have a comfortable, safe, snug place to sleep.

Just maybe, I would sleep even better, if I had Buttercup the sloth adorning my bed! Seriously, if anyone was thinking of a present for me for some reason…

Saturday Mornings

Sleep in, CHECK. Take a long hot shower, CHECK. Have a coffee and some toast whilst sitting on the couch, CHECK. Spend the next hour surfing the net and watching recorded shows, CHECK. Now to get up and do something in the afternoon…. (if I absolutely have to…)IMG_6470

Morning Kisses

Imagine this: you wake up, it’s raining outside, you turn over and, half asleep, receive a tiny kiss from the one you love.

And then you go back to sleep, because you are a sloth.

Twinning

My Mum, sister and niece got back from overseas today. Sounds like they had an amazing time! I felt very lucky, got some merchandise and some duty free goodies, plus my sister got me a sloth! From a zoo in Nebraska. I didn’t have the heart to tell her I already have Sueño. So, I gave her a pink hair bow and gave her boy twin a bow tie. I’ve named him Duermo, as it is also a Spanish name, same as Sueño! I loves him. He has this sort of “I do say, jolly good ol’ chap” vibe about him. I feel like he needs a pipe.

Duermo means “I sleep” in Spanish.
