Little Dancing Sloths

This weekend I journeyed to my hometown to see the fam. It was a nice, relaxing weekend spent with some of the most important people in my life. In particular, I went to see my beautiful niece perform in her end-of-year dance recital for:

Hip-hop…

…and contemporary.

She was absolutely stunning and so poised for a girl of only eight. No fear! Very proud to call myself her Aunt and have her blow kisses to me at the end of the performance. Kinda makes some of the things you worry about on a daily basis seem trivial.

PS: The second pic is from some cute little greeting cards available on Etsy.

The Sloth Gift Guide 2014

It’s December! And that means it’s time to get onto your Chrissy shopping if you haven’t yet. Last year I posted the Ultimate Sloth Gift Guide, but each year more weird and wonderful sloth-related products and experiences seem to come into existence, so here’s my top-ten pick for 2014.

Nightmare on Sloth Street

Second Halloween party last night. London ZooHaven’t been to a Halloween party in a few years, and this time got invited to two! They went all out with the decorations and Jack-o-Lanterns last night too, so it was quite impressive. Bit like this sloth from London Zoo! I wore a bright green wig and went as an alien this time around. So Halloween is (finally) over for another year, so I’ll leave you with this Nightmare on Sloth Street print available on Etsy.nightmare-sloth

Sloth Showers

My friend had a baby shower this afternoon, for her second little boy due in six weeks. I think if it ever comes time for me to have a lil babe, this would definitely have to be the nursery themenurserysloth

You can get some sloth wall decals here. Also, if you are looking for a great baby shower present, you can’t go past this adorable sloth mobile from Etsy.slothmobile

Sloth on a Bike

Back in Slothsgivings, Buzzfeed challenged its writers/readers to draw a sloth on a bicycle. Just because. Of course. There were some… interesting… illustrations. (View them all here.)slothbikepic

But I think Dark Cycle Clothing has to take the cake for its incredible Sloth on a Bike on a Tshirt. Wowsa.slothshirtbikeI should point out that I DON’T ride a bike. I do have an exercise bike at home, slightly collecting dust, but one of these days I WILL ride it! However I think (even though it’s proverbially wrong) that I’ve forgotten how to ride a bike. I feel like if I tried, I’d fall. So, bully for you if you know/enjoy riding but unfortunately it’s not for me!!

Sloth Beauty (and Brooch)

Just started watching American Beauty for the first time in my life (don’t worry, it’s paused). Apparently it’s supposed to be good, so we’ll see!

americanslothyAll that keeps coming to my mind is the image of Matty the Sloth:

mattyslothflowerOk, so I know it’s not rose petals, but hey, I’m not gunna say no to this gorgeous little man.

On the topic of love and flowers, I really like this v. cute brooch from Etsy!
